February 5, 2024
The Toronto Auto Show season kicks off in fine form on Wednesday February 14 with CADA Summit at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Dealer attendees can now expect a full day of thought-provoking sessions with expert speakers and keynotes from Canada, the U.S. and the UK.
The topics will cover the future of AI and its impact on dealerships, the state of the vehicle market and the economy, the evolving political landscape on both sides of the border, dealer and OEM relations, and the gaps in the EV infrastructure that threaten to derail the move to electrification.
“We are really pleased with how this year’s event came together, and I look forward to seeing you all at CADA Summit,” said Tim Reuss, CADA’s President and CEO. “You won’t be disappointed, it will be a fast-moving agenda with lots of great insights.”
One panel session that is sure to get the interest of dealers will be a frank discussion about the gaps that remain in building the infrastructure needed to support Canada’s move to full electrification.
Niel Hiscox, Publisher, Canadian auto dealer will moderate a panel of industry leaders who are responsible for safely building and managing the charging infrastructure needed to support widespread EV adoption in Canada.
Hiscox is joined by panelists Josie Erzetic, President and CEO, Electrical Safety Authority; Andrea Nusser, Director, Customer Strategy & Experience, Hydro One; and Simon Ouellette, CEO, Charge Hub. They will bring a range of expert perspectives to the complexities and opportunities of the challenge ahead.
The panel will explore whether the infrastructure to support EVs is happening fast enough, and will look at what is working and what isn’t. Discussions will cover a broad range of topics including:
Private and public charging, grid capacity, the different EV ownership experience in rural vs. urban markets, the federal government’s Vehicle Availability Standards and the role of governments and regulators in pushing for an electrified future.
