November 23, 2020
The ninth annual CADA Summit is finalizing a blockbuster program for the February 3, 2021 event. Registration is planned to open soon.
Among the latest additions to the conference is a panel on digital finance that will feature John Carmichael, Chief Executive Officer and Registrar at the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC), and Andrew Ojamae, President & CEO of AutoIQ in Barrie, Ont.
“This new panel will look at how COVID-19 has accelerated digital finance, and how transactions can go digital while protecting both the dealer and the customer,” said Bonnie Wasser, CADA’s Industry Relations Manager, in an interview with CADA Newsline.
Wasser said the panelists will explore the risk involved in the digital finance and lease processes as well as fraud protection and prevention.
Also announced is a new panel discussing the Rebirth of Canadian Automotive Manufacturing and what this will mean for dealers. The panel will include Denis DesRosiers, President of DesRosiers Automotive Consultants (DAC), and Flavio Volpe, President of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association (APMA).
“Get ready for an exceptionally strong program for 2021, as the CADA Summit aims to answer and explore some of the more pressing topics on dealers’ minds amid the COVID-19 crisis and post-pandemic,” said Wasser.
Other previously announced speakers include Stephen Poloz, Special Advisor at Osler who was also the ninth Governor of the Bank of Canada, David Frum, Social and Political Commentator who will explore the current political climate, and Jeremy Gutsche, CEO of Trend Hunter and New York Times bestselling author of Better and Faster.
As is customary, the event will include a dealer panel that, for 2021, will tackle a range of questions around how auto retailers have been coping with COVID-19 and adjusting their businesses and processes.
The panel will include Stephen Chipman, Birchwood Automotive Group, Winnipeg, Man.; Susan Gubasta, Mississauga Toyota, Mississauga, Ont.; Charles Saillant, Groupe Saillant, Ste-Foy, Que.; and Kim Day, Steele Auto Group, Dartmouth, N.S.
All event participants will be able to take part in Q&A sessions with the speakers, network with other dealer attendees from across Canada, and honour the 2020 CADA Dealer Satisfaction Index Survey (DSI) award recipients and CADA Laureates.
Member dealers can register for $99 and receive access to five logins, so other dealership staff can also attend the online event. Registration will open on the Summit website in the next few weeks.
