CADA Summit 2021 adds new speaker, reveals dealer panelists
November 9th, 2020
Former Governor of the Bank of Canada Stephen Poloz will join the CADA Summit 2021 speaker lineup, adding a widely recognized economist with nearly 40 years of experience in financial markets, forecasting, and economic policy to the list.
The ninth annual CADA Summit returns on February 3, 2021 with a new look and feel in an online environment that will examine the automobile industry's continued transformation and success in a post-COVID world.
“We believe Stephen Poloz will add depth and value for all CADA Summit 2021 participants,” said Bonnie Wasser, CADA’s Industry Relations Manager.
Poloz, currently Special Advisor at Osler, was the ninth Governor of the Bank of Canada for seven years after 14 years of increasingly senior positions there. He also spent 14 years at Export Development Canada as Chief Economist, Head of Lending, and President and CEO.
The dealer panel, always a well-received session at the CADA Summit, has also been revealed, with participants from across the country exploring important topics to dealers amid the pandemic.
“CADA Summit 2021 will include a top-notch dealer panel that we are looking forward to hearing from,” said Wasser. “The dealer panel will tackle a range of questions from how they coped with COVID-19 to how they adjusted their business and processes, among other things.” Wasser said the dealer panel will also consider questions around real estate, dealership facilities, and explore customer change and if they see this change as a temporary blip or permanent flip.
The dealer panel will include Stephen Chipman, Birchwood Automotive Group, Winnipeg, Man.; Susan Gubasta, Mississauga Toyota, Mississauga, Ont.; Charles Saillant, Groupe Saillant, Ste-Foy, Que.; and Kim Day, Steele Auto Group, Dartmouth, N.S.
Attendees will be able to take part in Q&A sessions with the speakers, network with other dealer attendees from across the country, and find out who the CADA Dealer Satisfaction Index Survey (DSI) award recipients are — and all within a virtual environment.
“We are working on a fantastic program that all attendees are sure to appreciate — perhaps now more than ever, due to the pandemic,” said Wasser.
Other currently confirmed speakers are David Frum, Social and Political Commentator, who will explore the current political climate and offer an analysis of the results of November’s election in the United States and the implications for Canada, and Jeremy Gutsche, CEO of Trend Hunter and New York Times bestselling author of Better and Faster, who will explain how COVID-19 has accelerated change and how that change has impacted automotive retail in Canada.
The CADA Summit will be held online on February 3, 2021 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. EST. More details and registration information will be announced soon.
