Charles Saillant is named 82nd Chairman of CADA
November 7, 2022
Charles Saillant, President of Ste-Foy Toyota and Co-president of Groupe Saillant in Quebec City, QC, officially became the 82nd CADA Chairman on October 26, 2022 during the Board of Directors meeting.
As a dealer in Quebec, which is one of the provincial leaders in EV uptake in the country, Charles is uniquely positioned to be a leader at a time when the transition to EVs is fast accelerating and some manufacturers (not all) are suggesting to change the way in which they do business with the dealers. He will be a powerful advocate as CADA continues to broaden support to dealers across Canada. “I'm looking forward to working with the CADA Executives as we continue advancing topics on behalf of dealers across Canada,” said Saillant. “I think it's going to be a very interesting year.”
“We are pleased to welcome Charles Saillant as the new Chair of the CADA Board of Directors,” said Tim Reuss, President & CEO of CADA. “We are also grateful for Peter Heppner’s service as the past Chair, and we’d like to thank him for his work over the last year supporting auto dealers across the country.”
Saillant said CADA will be continuing to represent the interests of Canadian dealers, and will look at how they can ensure the rules of the game are fair. “Whatever and however many files we are working on, we have to be present to look after our interests,” said Saillant.
“We, the automotive industry, are experiencing another crisis, which is the inventory shortage and it is excessively brutal, although it varies from one manufacturer to another.” said Saillant. “So that is another issue that we are focused on, but our control of the situation is limited. It’s a global issue.”
The CADA Board of Directors is made up of 15 dealer volunteers who represent every province in Canada.
